Youth House 2 - Coming in fall

Please take a preview of what is coming in Fall: Youth House 2.

This house is open to all: not only youth but all of AHF members who would like to join the celebration every other Saturday. If you have a heart for next generation and a "young" spirit, you are welcome to come!!

In Youth House 1, both parents and youth were worshiping together: what a blessing I have seen.

I pray that the Lord will continue to pour out His blessings and draw people, youth and old, to Him.

Agape Love 1 Unconditional Love through Jesus Christ

Agape Love 1

I use these three video clips from [Dong Haeng] to illustrate God's love, Agape love in youth summer house.

I would like to share with you here in a 3 series:

Here is the number 1:

"Unconditional Love through Jesus Christ"

Through this love, Jesus died for our sin on the cross. (John 3:16) And through the cross, Jesus was pierced for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities. (Isaiah 53:5) Jesus' love completes us so that we can have life and life abundantly. (John10:10)

Yet we may experience darkness and failure in our daily walk (Hebrew 12:1) : compared with what Jesus did for us on the cross, these can only bring us closer to Him when we lift our head to look upon Him (Hebrew 12:2), not our own feelings and circumstances.

Time flies!! We just finished number 7 of this series of 8 sessions on Experiencing GOD.

We had a very special moment with Jesus in the gathering when youth and parents responded to the Agape love of God. When youth and parents stepped out from their seat together to run to the altar, the Holy Spirit was working gently yet mightly in pouring out more of Jesus' love in our hearts. God's love is touching us all: both parents and young people at the same time, same place without barriers.

This is my prayer: Lord, remember your household at this exact time. Do not forsake your church, even when we are old and gray (Psalm 71:18), until we willinging declare your power and love the the next generation. And none of them will be lost.

Youth Summer House #5

Father Seeks a True Worshipper:

And a true worshpper takes a real step of sacirfice...

We touched on the subject of worship. As in John 4, Jesus made

an effort to reveal the truth of

worship to the Samaritan woman. In the same way, He is looking forward to our responses.

Worship Him in truth and Spirit.....

The night before, I was awake in the mid night, feeling like to pray for the young people, especially in the area of music, media, video games that are not pleasing God.

And I preached on how the enemy is able to use these things as a foothold or "justification, ground" to get us. And our action will speak for our hearts that we do not want to have anything to do with these evil, though on surface they all look cool, innocent or naive, schemes.

I was so blessed to see some of the young people to take a

step, sacrifice, to follow Jesus - this time for real action.

Some shared that they want to have music "cleaned up"

One would like to take down her favorite posters of actors and singers.

Some shared their struggle on giving up a popular movie about the vampire.....

I pray this will be a beginning of something good: a new generation standing up for what they believe!!

Youth Summer House #4: Come and Worship Him

How to express Jesus Using a Group Sculpture?

This is a group game we played at Youth Summer House last week.

Split into two groups, each group came up unique presentation to express Jesus.

Group 1: Love

Can you see they spelling LOVE as a group with a heart in front of the word?

Group 2: Jesus is the Way

Val and Grace were on the group making a bridge to symbolize Jesus is the way.

Unfortunately we did not catch the moment for you here.

We had a wonderful time worshipping toward the end.

We had a altar call for "true worshipper" right after worship time. Many came forward to respond to this call. I could feel the presence of Jesus in the room.

And we worshipped and worshipped.....

We seemed to forget about time....

No one wanted to leave for quiet a while, dwelling in His presence.

Time seemed to stop there....

I see a generation to rise up and take their place...

Youth Summer House #3: Are You in Jesus.

This week, the main subject is "Are we God-Centered or self-centered".

I also shared Matthew 19 about a rich young man (well, under 40 is qualified as young man) who wants to follow Jesus.

And, Happy Birthday, Monica. Sweet 17!!

I have the faintest idea that I would be doing the following:

-preaching on a diving board by a swimming pool. (first time ever)

- a skid with special assistants (Sophia and Jonathan): both jump into the water after the message: follow Jesus (I almost jumped until I realize I am not even qualified as a "young" man according to the bible definition)

- after a Altar call or "shout" - follow Jesus, most of the folks are IN THE WATER to follow Jesus!!

Yes, following Jesus takes action of faith to jump out of our comfort zone. The result? We will get Him all around us.

It is not enough to have Jesus in us, we need to jump into HIM so he is all around us......just like these folks in the swimming pool...

The question is not only: Is Jesus in you?

7 Realities of Experiecing God

Would you want to take a glimpse of what we teach this summer in Youth House?

Here is a quick overview of 7 realities of experiencing God, rearranged in a power point present ion used in the kick off meeting.

Youth House will meet again in July 4th, Saturday from 11:00am -2:00pm, light lunch together.

Please keep us in your prayre: that God is raising up a new generation to take their place with selfless faith.....

Youth Summer House: Experiencing God

After much praying, we decided to start a 8-week youth summer house, “Experiencing God" by youth edition from Henry Blackaby and Claude King”. Our heart is to have youth experiencing God through solid bible teaching and impartation of the power of the Holy Spirit. There will be worship, video session, discussions and application. I and assistant, Stephanie Lai, who returns home from college will be there as well. We have also invited some special guests from other churches ]to participate. If you or your friends are interested, please contact me or Nelly Chen.

Kick-off with youth and parents will be on Saturday June 20. Parent and youth are welcome to join for the kick-off night.
