Hello Monday from Kung-Li April 27

Do not be afraid of ... what?

One morning Hsiaowei was out for some errants, I was home with Zachary.  After a while, I asked Zach if he would like to spend his game time while waiting for mom to come back in any minutes.  We allow him to play for 30 mins a day as a reward if he is good.  30 min is all the quota he gets for a day of good behavior.

"Do not be afraid..."
Zach happily agreed with me, too quick to comply I thought.
While he sit in front of the computer ready to spend his 30 minutes, I heard him reciting this bible verse:
"Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today" I

I know this verse from Exodus 14:13: it is the weekly verse for Zach taught by mom earlier this week.

I was so thrilled to hear my son, 4 year old, reciting a bible verse before playing a computer game!!
"House church is working!!" I told myself in very satisfying fashion.
I wish this story would end here.

"Do not be afraid of what?"
I wish that this is how you would think of a "pastor's" family should be.
Stay with me.
When Hsiaowei came back and found Zach was playing computer game, she was not happy:
"Zach has played this morning and used up his quota already." said Hsiaowei in a tone that Zach knows very well that he is in big trouble.   I mean Big trouble.

"Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see..."
I heard Zach started reciting the bible verse again......

Then I realized why he was reciting this verse before playing computer game after all.
And you probably can imagine what this little brave soldier did see that day.
The promised deliverance did not come at all, I can assure you on that one.

And you can hear Zach reciting this verse in the video clip: this time he knows better I guess.
