House Church at Work: Prayer Walk Sunday
By Kung-Li
10:45am Sunday morning, raining. In fact, pretty heavy in Princeton
I was a bit unease about one thing: this is the Sunday we decided to have prayer walk around Princeton after house church in the afternoon at 2:30pm.
I did pray,” Lord, please stop raining so we can do it this afternoon.” I did not even dare thinking of sunshine. Just stop raining it will be fine, Lord.
1:30pm: cloudy, wet road condition
I looked at the youth section and asked, “Which team you want to join?”
All of them, looked back at me, said together, “The most dangerous place, so be the North team
I feel the Holy Spirit said to me, “take them with you”.
So I did, after asking their parents permissions on the spot. Also, I got their “so agreeing” promise to follow my “military” order when walking the neighborhood.
1:45pm: cloudy, wet road condition, no sunshine still
Team north surrounding their pastor who sit in front of his keyboard, hand-in-hand, prayed “ Lord, No rain, Sunshine, and Hot.”
“Oops”, I exactly how I said to myself in my thinking, “ are you guys asking too much? What if there is not sunshine and these kids’ faith will be tested….”
For these few, age from 8-15, this prayer comes so natural. They did not even think. That is the key.
I asked them, “ go to my study and pray earnestly if you want sunshine.” I am scared, to be honest.
1:45pm-2:00pm cloudy, wet road condition, no sunshine still
Team north went into my study, assigned as the war room for now, 4 times to pray for rain to stop (great!!).
I opened the door to see how they are doing. All of them, with their eyes open, looked at outside of the window and prayed, “Lord, we want sunshine.”
Rain is not even an issue. Sunshine and hot is the subject!! I really started to worry maybe I had given them too much hope. What if it did not go as “They” pray?
3:00-4:00 pm prayer walk
Team north, I and uncle Wenching, who joins us to be our “tailback safety” guard started prayer walk from the public library. No rain. No sunshine either.
We prayed in the new art center and its theater, the potential place for future celebrations. The second floor is overlooking Princeton Cemetery where Jonathan Edward’s buried. Very touching moment.
We prayed through the neighborhood, blessing every corner and house we passed by with God’s words and anointing.
4:15pm Back to library, and SUNSHINE
It is not too hot, yet….
So pastor, who is encouraged so much but does not want thi suspension to go to long, decided to make it HOT on his own: break at Hallo Pub ice cream.
7:00pm Everybody goes home, Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain
Hsiaowei and I were sitting in our basement and thanks Him from the bottom of our hearts.
We did wonders today. Rain->Prayer->No rain-> Mission accomplished ->Sunshine->Ice cream break-> Thunderstorm
Wonders in between rain and storm. He is good all the time!!
