House of Grace

I got this video clip today that was shared among AH sister's prayer group. When I looked the end of the film where the family got together to say grace before they ate, that picture really redefines what I know about grace: saying grace may be a routine for us who live here in US, to this family, it has a complete different meaning.

Just what Jesus taught us in Lord's prayer, "Give us today our daily bread...", we give thanks for what we have on table for today.

Grace, that is what makes a house warm and lively...not just food, house, finance, retirement etc....

Several ways of saying grace for your reference:
Before the meal we pray: "Come Lord Jesus, Be our guest, And let these gifts to us be blest. Amen." Following the meal we pray: "We thank thee Lord for meat and drink, In Jesus' name we pray."
Another:
We start dinner by all holding hands and saying "Bless us O Lord and for These Thy Gifts which we are about to receive, may the Lord make us truly thankful. Amen." If we want to add a special prayer we say "Father God we thank you for all your good gifts and blessings and we want to lift up (name) to you." Amen.

My favorite one that I learn from my pastor, Pastor Paul, at Albany,
Lord, Thank you and Bless the food in Your Name, Amen

Straigth and direct, right to the point, excellent prayer especially when you are asked to pray before a table full of goodies. No one expects a long, heartful prayer.  This one works. trust me.
