Luke 10 Principle: Spiritual Warfare II

You have the authority to overcome the power of darkness!!

How can a policeman stop a 20-ton truck by simply raising his or her hand

It is not because he or she has the physical power to stop the truck.

Policeman is given the authority and he or she is using exactly what has been given to them.

Authority is able to overcome power to enforce the law it represents.

Luke 10 says it clearly:

Luke 10:19 I (Jesus) have given you authority (exousia (ex-oo-see'-ah) to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power ( dunamis (doo'-nam-is)

Likewise, we as believers have been given authority to overcome the power of darkness.

In Luke 10, it is especially applicable to a household.

Do not leave foothold that compromises our authority

1. How to trample: exercise our authority?

a. Understand our authority

b. Exam if there is any foothold or ground holding by the enemy (Ephesian 4:27 Do not give the devil a foothold) a position usable as a base for further advance

c. Repent (the kingdom is near) before God, applying the precious blood of Jesus in our lives

d. Forgive others (let go): If we release here on earth, our heaven father will release us from heavenly regime Denounce foothold by proclaiming God’s promise (Mathew 18: This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart)

e. Proclaim, Rebuke, (Jesus’s example when he was tempted by the evil one) (Mathew 18:19, Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, whatever you loose on earth will loosed in heaven
