Hello Monday from Kung-Li August 16

Posted on 1:44 AM by Kung-Li Deng

My heart goes out to those suffered in recent Taiwan flood. In times of catastrophes, especially at this scale, we all feel powerless facing such events that inflict so much damages on the earth. Lives lost, homes destroyed, and hope diminished.
This article reporting how folks got out from their hometown in the flooded mountain areas brings me great encouragement. I pray that it will also encourage you.

This is really a scene: young men carrying old men, women carrying their children. One by one, they wandered through the flooded valley on a narrow muddy trail. Finally they arrived to find rescuers, strangers coming from the dry land, with out-reached arms to pull them over onto solid grounds. The greeting between complete strangers brought together by this disastrous event was a simple but grateful“ Good job”. These Lu-Guei folks narrowly escaping the flood display incredible strength and positive attitude toward this catastrophe that destroyed their homes.
Surprisingly, no one complained. You hear mostly outbursts of sincere joy “It is good to see you here”. In addition, you hear also “nothing is more important to come out alive.

「平安就好」- directly translation in English may go this way “it is the most important thing above all these: you are safe and sound (peace)”. Peace comes from the inner being, not from a status quo of our circumstances. And I pray that you have that perfect peace in you through these words:

"These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."
Jesus, John 16:33

I also attach links for prayer items and donation (World vision). Let us joining those who suffer to go through the difficult time together.
